

William “Bill” Dean Baldwin, 87, passed peacefully at his home and went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2014. He was born in Struthers, Ohio on May 20,1927 to Homer E. and Bertha Thompson Baldwin.
His beloved wife, Mary Libertin Baldwin, whom he married May 26, 1956 departed this life to be with the Lord on August 27, 1994.
Upon graduation from Struthers High School, he joined the Merchant Marines and served in WWII; additionally, he served in the Army during the Korean War. He graduated from Youngstown College in the years between his military service. Upon his return from the Army, Mr. Baldwin began his career with Equifax where he worked until his retirement in 1989.
While living in the Youngstown, Ohio area, Mr. Baldwin was an active member of the Struthers VFW and a member of both Nativity of Christ and Sts. Peter and Paul Orthodox Churches. He served as parish president of the former.
After relocating to Richmond, VA in 1990, he became a member of St. Cyprian of Carthage Orthodox Church. Mr. Baldwin volunteered for many years with Mended Hearts at Chippenham Medical Center, accumulating over 8400 volunteer hours.
Mr. Baldwin enjoyed cooking and baking. He was a avid reader. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Marlene Baldwin of Midlothian, VA; his daughter Mary Baldwin of Charlottesville, VA; his daughter Sabina Baldwin and her finacee Bill Crawford of Poquoson, VA; his daughter and son-in-law Melania and CDR Demetri Economos of Portsmouth, RI; his grandson Stephen Sidor of Newport News, VA; his grandson Nicholas Sidor of Newport News, VA and his granddaughter Emily Baldwin of Midlothian, VA; sister-in-law Elsie Baldwin of Tega Cay, SC; brother-in-law George Libertin of Girard, OH; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Nicholas and Mary Kay Libertin of Campbell, OH, along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence H. Baldwin on July 11, 2014. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 2 -4 pm at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home 1020 Huguenot Road. Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11am at Saint Cyprian of Carthage Orthodox Church interment 3 pm Dale Memorial Park
