On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, William Loyal Pridgen of Richmond, VA, loving husband, father, and brother passed away unexpectedly at the age of 55. He was born in December 1965 and was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Pridgen.
Loyal is survived by his wife of 28 years, Leslie Pridgen and their two children, Caroline and James. He is also survived by his father, Jim Pridgen; His sister, Jeanette Peters, her husband Mick, their children Spencer, Emily and Leslie; His brother, Doug Pridgen, his wife Ginger, their children Jordan, Tyler and Kinsey; His uncle, David Prior and his wife, Terry.
Loyal attended Virginia Tech and graduated in the class of 1989. He was always a big Hokie fan. He later went on to get his master’s degree in computer science at John Hopkins University.
Loyal worked at Estes Express Lines where he served as Principal Enterprise Architect. Previously, he was also an entrepreneur and created three companies, RiverCrest MultiMedia, Indigetech, and Schemata Solutions.
All who knew him found him to be caring, friendly, and fun loving. He was a lifelong learner and could speak in depth on many subjects. He loved boats, history, music, travel, but most of all family and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at Salisbury Presbyterian Church, where he was an active member and served as an usher for many years. It will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021, at 3:00 P.M. with a reception to follow at the church.
