

TANNER, William “Bill”, 87, of Midlothian, passed away April 30, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura. Survivors include his children, Maunone Tanner of Kentucky, Jeff Tanner of Midlothian, Tracy Miller (Tim) of Virginia Beach and John Tanner (Deannie) of Mineral; two brothers, Ray Tanner (Joan) of Georgia and Harold Tanner (Hettie) of North Carolina; two sisters, Sue Poiles (Johnny) and Jo Young (Sonny) all of Kentucky; 14 grandchildren, Rick, Troy (Olive), Kris (Amy), Paige (Jim), Zachary, Patrick (Marne), Graham (Andrea), Cameron, Laura, Lisa (Karl), Daniel, Lindsey, Ayron and Katlyn; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dalton Tanner and Kenneth Tanner; and two sisters, Elaine Tinsley and Wanda Parks. Mr. Tanner retired from Southern States as the Director of Poultry Services after 35 years of service. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. His remains rest at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. A service celebrating Bill’s life will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church, 1100 Huguenot Springs Road, Midlothian. Interment will follow in church cemetery.
