Pitch, passed away peacefully last week. He was preceded in death by his parents Earnest and Dorcas Pitchlynn. He is survived by his sister Linda and husband Brian Lillard, nieces Katherine and Allison, nephew Nelson, all of Frisco, Texas, Uncle Logan Damewood of Longview Texas. He is also survived by longtime friends Tom (Mule) Muehlenweg of SC, Lloyd and Charlotte Kutch and family of OKC and numerous friends, colleagues and students.
Pitch taught school in the Moore school system for 28 years, all but 2 at Moorewest Jr. High. He was the academic team sponsor for many years and a dedicated science teacher. To many students, Mr. Pitchlynn was the most difficult and best teacher they encountered.
Pitch was a huge Tampa Bay Rays fan and along with "Mule" attended spring training in Clearwater, FL. the past 14 years. For the last several years Pitch has spent every NASCAR race with his race buddies Kenney, Keith and Lloyd. They watched the race and had lunch, usually prepared by Charlotte with "help" from the boys. Pitch was a Tony Stewart fan and loved watching the Waltrip brothers commentate. He and the boys attended several races. Pitch loved to explore and stop at every trailer, booth or display on race day. Pitch will be sorely missed. Services will be 2pm Saturday, August 17, 2013, in Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, Oklahoma.
