Joan Roper

Joan N. Roper was born January 22, 1932, in Jefferson City, MO, to Lloyd and Helen (Coffman) Newberry. She passed away April 12, 2014 in Lewisville, Texas. Joan graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1950 and continued her education, earning a Bachelor Degree in Education. Joan was a 6th grade teacher at Cleveland Bailey Elementary School in Midwest City. Joan married John B. Roper in October of 1953 and they lived in Midwest City since 1956 until moving to Texas. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John B. Roper, two daughters, Jon Ann and Julie. Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Midwest City with interment at 2:30pm at Sallisaw Memorial Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
