Our beautiful, beloved Alexis Lyn Whitworth, passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2026, at the young age of 34. She leaves behind her family and countless friends who love her beyond measure and will miss her more deeply than words can express. Our hearts are broken, but we find comfort in knowing that she has returned to her Father in Heaven and the loving arms of her daddy, Steve. After 14 years apart, their reunion must have been a beautiful one.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on June 3, 1992, to Steve and Shari Whitworth. She graduated from Cottonwood High School in 2010 and later attended SLCC. After school, Lexi began working in fashion retail. She was a manager at Urban Blues, where she was also responsible for social media marketing. During that time, her love for fashion truly blossomed. Lexi loved clothes, purses, SHOES, and jewelry. (She had more in her closet than Barbie!) Her natural beauty, unmistakable style, and beautiful smile soon led to modeling for various companies and brands. Eventually, Lexi transitioned into the lending industry, beginning her career with Celtic Bank. Later she moved to Citywide, where she worked as a loan processor, and further achieved licensing as a loan officer. Most recently, she worked for Canopy Mortgage.
Alexis’s greatest joy in life are her two children, Liam and Lakelyn. She poured her heart into being the best Mama she could be. She was incredibly proud of Liam and the man he is becoming. She loved watching him excel in football and was his biggest cheerleader. She took immense pride in all of his accomplishments. Lexi adored her daughter, Lakelyn, her precious “mini-me.” She loved surprising her with special gifts. Playing with Barbies and playing games were their favorite activities together. Her children are her world, her greatest blessings, and the most important part of her life. She never missed an opportunity to tell them how much she loved them.
Her mom was her best friend and constant support. They laughed together during the good times and cried together following the darkest and most difficult times. Her mom was ALWAYS in her corner and never backed down from helping and loving her. Their special bond for each other had no boundary.
Lexi loved her entire family beyond measure. She had a unique and loving relationship with each of her siblings. Her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart. They will never forget her pinching their cheeks and pulling them in for a hug and kiss. When other adults were talking in the kitchen, she was playing games with the kids. These are moments they will always remember.
One of Lexi’s greatest qualities is that she strived to not judged others, no matter their circumstances, choices, or past. She accepted others and loved them unconditionally. Her compassion toward others is one of the qualities that made her so special.
Lexi also had a deep love for animals, she cuddled them all, including dogs, bunnies, goats, especially her two cats and even large pigs. Alexis had a spirit that was always ready for an adventure. Some of her favorite adventures were hiking, boating, and enjoying the sunshine in Cabo. She also loved gathering around a table to play Rummy or Yahtzee. She embraced life’s adventures and found joy in experiences shared with the people she loved.
Alexis was excited to be baptized when she was 8 and is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed youth activities as a teenager, including Temple Visits and Girl’s Camp. She participated in callings at times and loved those opportunities. She found comfort and support when attending church and was grateful for those friends and leaders. She loved to listen to church music, and especially found comfort from primary songs. At her core, Alexis loved God, and loved others.
Lexi will be remembered for her beautiful smile, unforgettable laugh, love of fashion, adventurous spirit, fierce devotion to her children, unwavering love for her family, and a heart that knew no limits. She always made time for others.
Alexis is survived by her mother, Shari Whitworth; her children, Liam Whitworth Hosea and Lakelyn Gillie; her siblings, Darin (Marianne) Shaw, David (Tori) Shaw, and Danika Gross; her nieces and nephews; her grandmother, Bonnie Whitworth (Don) Anderson; and many extended family members and dear friends.
