Anna L. Hawkins, age 90, was born April 1, 1922 in Okeene, Oklahoma. Anna graduated from High School in Homestead, Oklahoma in 1939. She moved to Riverside, California in 1941, where she met Howard V. Hawkins, the love of her life. They were married in Long Beach, California in November 1944. Together they raised three sons, Larry, Michael and Dennis. Anna leaves six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Her husband Howard was employed by the U.S. Forest Service, requiring numerous, frequent moves throughout the California region of the Forest Service. Anna was always able to turn each new location into a loving home for her family. While assigned to the Sequoia National Forest for six years in Bakersfield, California, Anna worked for the Bakersfield city schools. The family spent six years on the Inyo National Forest, stationed in Lone Pine, California where she worked for the U.S. Postal Service. Upon Anna’s request, there will be no service.
