Annemarie Campbell passed away on Friday, September 30,2022. She was born in Stuttgart, Germany on October 22,1939 to Hans Otto Egger and Anna Maria Nanz. At the age of nineteen, in May 1958, Annemarie boarded a boat and emigrated to the United States. She worked for Ecker’s Photo and Utah Power and Light. She made many lifelong friends working at the power company.
In 1961 she married Reinhard Gaertner, later divorced. They had two children, Alan Mark and Lisa Ann.
In 1986 Annemarie married her soulmate Gayle J. Campbell who passed away in March 2006. Annemarie and Gayle enjoyed many good years together traveling and especially boating at Lake Powell. They enjoyed many trips at Lake Powell with family, friends, visitors from Germany and their dog Chico.
Annemarie was a fabulous cook and going to her house for dinner was always a delicious affair, especially if she made authentic German food. Annemarie was also a great baker and excelled in making pies. Fond memories of a pie baking on Sunday morning will be missed. She enjoyed making cookies for her grandsons, chocolate chip cookies were her specialty. Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting and counted cross stitching. She was an excellent seamstress and she loved to read.
Annemarie was a strong-willed woman who overcame many hardships and adversities. She was a very talented, generous, sweet and friendly lady yet she was also fiercely independent.
She is survived by her son, Alan Mark Gaertner, daughter Lisa Moslander (Joe), grandsons, Jay Paul Moslander, Tyler Jex Moslander and Kalan Ray Gaertner. The family would like to thank the staff of Quality Home Health and Hospice for their kindness, patience and compassionate care.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive on Saturday, October 15 at 10:30am.
