

May 17, 1933~January 23, 2015Barbara Ladue McKay, 81, died January 23, 2015 in Bountiful, Utah.Born May 17, 1933 in Glenside, Pennsylvania to Donald Stewart McKay and Dorothy Lenore Brockway, her greatest desire from childhood on was to be a mother and home-maker and to care for all generations of her family. A convert to the LDS church, she attended BYU and the University of Utah, studying English, nursing and music. Her son Peter born in 1954 from her first marriage to John Hunter Davis, and her daughter, Sylvia, in 1973 from her second marriage to Seshadri RamachandranMusic was always central in Barbara's life. She was an accomplished musician, pianist, organist, and teacher. For twelve years she was the principal accompanist for Ballet West, under its founder Willan Christensen. Barbara can be remembered by many for her excellent performances of organ and piano at uncountable numbers of weddings and memorial services. For years she played the organ for church services in wards where she resided. For several years Barbara was also the professional organist at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, performing their weekly radio broadcasts. Barbara taught piano and organ professionally for six decades and will be fondly remembered by all her students.Barbara is survived by her son Peter (Libby) Caffall-Davis, daughter Sylvia (Gary) Skeen, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
