Bette Jean Bischoff Kingston, age 94, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025 after living a full life. Bette was born June 13, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Carl and Gertrude Bischoff. She was the youngest of 5 children (the caboose).
She attended South High where she met Oliver Kent Kingston and they were married on October 19, 1950 and together they raised 4 children. Because of Kent’s service in the U.S. Air Force they lived in many different states where Bette made numerous lifetime friends. She loved keeping in contact with her friends by phone, visits, or sending cards. She also loved spending time with her family, especially vacations in Hawaii.
Bette was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a sincere faith in her Heavenly Father. Although she did endure some trials in her life, she always tried to spread positivity by telling everyone she met to “Be Happy!”
Bette is survived by her children Toni (Keith) Pugmire, Marty (Cindy) Kingston, & Brad (Kerri) Kingston, 11 Grandchildren, 23 Great-Grandchildren, and her sister-in-law Cohleen Bischoff. She was preceded in death by her husband Kent Kingston, her son Steven Kingston, her grandson Kammeron Kingston, as well as her brothers Bob, Doug, Gordon & her sister Arvella.
We would like to thank all those who showed Bette so much love and kindness, especially in her later years.
