Beverly Jean Joseph, our cherished mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on the morning of March 1st, 2018, surrounded by a loving family upon which she centered a life filled with love, joy and beauty.
Mother was born in Beaver, Utah on March 13, 1927 to Bill and Winnifred Nelson. It was there she met and married her high school sweetheart, Keith Joseph. They were wed in 1945 and together, they were able to begin the life she always wanted, which she said was to ‘get married and have babies.’ Mom embraced and understood her sacred calling as a mother, raising her four children with a devotion and love that knew no bounds. In addition to her job as a doting wife and mother, mom had a passion for many things in life. She was very accomplished on the piano and organ, with a gift for music that brought happiness to her and scores of others for many years. Her favorite church calling was always that of pianist, a role she served in up until her final days. Mom always kept a sharp mind, embracing literature and reading her whole life. She had a competitive spirit, loving card games with friends and family, but always playing to win. Every morning, she’d tackle the toughest crossword puzzles in the paper, and she lived and died watching her beloved Utah Jazz. Mom was the epitome of grace and beauty, one who constantly embraced what it was to be a lady. She was a true example of the finest qualities of womanhood. She loved her husband dearly, and supported him through the many years of hard work he put in as a successful service station owner. Later in life, mom was able to share her love with an ever growing number of grandkids, great grandkids and even great-great grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Winnifred Nelson, her husband Keith, as well as her oldest daughter, Susan Lauder and grandson, Ronald Markovich. She is survived by her sister Virginia Pinder, brother Jim Nelson, daughters Jeannie Owens and Kathy Hooton (Nelson) as well as her son Keith Joseph, Jr. (Jeanne). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren
The family would like to thank Envision Hospice and Sunrise Care Center for their compassionate care to mother in her final months.
