Beverly was born to loving parents Ruth Bates and Elman T. Child on September 18, 1934, and after complications from the corona virus, returned home to them on November 6, 2021. She married Joseph John Taylor Jr. on March 9, 1957 in Elko Nevada, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on January 27, 1960. Together they had 6 children and 7 grandchildren. Beverly was a life-long homemaker that loved gardening, canning, sewing, crocheting, making stuffed animals as well as homemade goodies and giving her hand made crafts to friends and family as gifts.
Beverly answered several callings to serve in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. She was proud to serve within the primary presidency many times over, including as first counselor in a pilot program for a special needs primary. Beverly loved serving with all children but had a passion for working with children with disabilities or special needs and often volunteered at a special needs seminary. She also served on a stake mission along with her Husband, Joseph, for two years.
Beverly had a vivid imagination and wrote poems and short stories for children that she shared with the children she served as well as her family. Beverly loved to laugh and had a sweet, happy go lucky spirit. Her strong spirt and determination served her and her family to endure many lifelong trials.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Joseph and daughter Vicky Rasmussen as well as 5 siblings. She is survived by her children Karen Payne (Russell), Christy T. Curtis, John Taylor (Cindy), Pam Taylor, Laureen T. Thomas (David), as well 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and one on the way.
Funeral services will be held for Beverly on Saturday November 13th at 12 noon. Viewings will be held on November 12th at 6:30 to 9:00pm and November 13th at 10:30 to 11:45am.
Our family would like to acknowledge and give thanks to the loving, responsible, and caring staff at Avalon West Care Center where she lived the last four years of her life.
