Brock was born February 15, 2001. He entered this world small, but mighty, and grew into an amazing man. From the very beginning, Brock showed more love and kindness than was thought possible. As a small child, Brock had intense interests — first came dinosaurs, and he knew them all. His love for Native Americans became an obsession; for several years there was nothing he didn't know about their culture, or that he didn't want to learn. In Brock's teenage years, long-boarding became his true passion, and it's where he made lifelong friends. He spent every extra dollar on decks, trucks, wheels, bushings, and grip tape — nothing was too small or insignificant. If it made his ride faster and better, there was nothing that would stop him from investing in his boards. Brock found freedom and peace on his board. Brock's love of animals knew no bounds — whether it was his snake, the thousands of lizards he caught, a spider that climbed into his room, or his beloved dogs, he loved being in their presence and loved caring for them. A day never went by that Brock didn't spend some time with his animals; they will miss him deeply. Brock was an excellent student, excelling in his classes. Brock found peace in being outside, whether it was in a park, the mountains or the desert he loved the tranquility of the outdoors.
Brock was a great friend to all he met and found joy in serving others; he cherished his friendships and tried, through his actions, to let each one know how much they meant to him.
Brock lived with unrelenting OCD and anxiety, something he battled every day to calm and defeat. If you met Brock, you wouldn't know what was spiraling in his mind, because above all else he was a kind, polite human — he would greet everyone with respect, a smile, and kind words. He spent his last few months in his Aunt’s Deb and Melissa’s home, hoping that he might find some relief and hope for his depression. As with most mental health issues, Brock was battling something very few people will ever understand. We tried — we tried our hardest to get him the help he needed. Brock was just too unique for this world.
Brock is now surrounded by his Grandma and Grandpa Wells, Grandma Rimington, and his little sister Tess Patrice, and countless other relatives who welcomed him with open arms. We are comforted that somehow Brock has found the relief that so eluded him in this life, and that he, along with his sister Tess, will continue as our guardian angels.
Brock is survived by his parents, Sara and Bryce Rimington; siblings Sophie and Sam; and his beloved Aunt Deb, who loved him as her own. He also leaves behind his Grandpa Rimington, and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him terribly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Until then, please be kind to everyone you meet — you never know what they are going through in their life. Show forth more love and kindness than is given to you. It's what Brock would have wanted all of us to do.
