Bruce Pyper Liebelt, age 75, passed away November 17, 2012 at home in Westlake Village, CA. He was born July 21, 1937 in Salt Lake City, UT to Gustave Charles and Blanche Maybell Liebelt. He attended Bountiful and Davis High Schools graduating in 1955. Bruce attended the University of Utah and graduated from Utah State University. He married Jean Vyonne Baker, our beloved mother on Sept 2, 1960 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She passed away on Sept 9, 1997. We remember our dad with love for many good things he was: an Air Force Officer stationed in Japan, family photographer, Santa, good neighbor and friend—a man who would give the shirt off his back for others. He loved camping, basketball, football, and politics. We express gratitude to Dixie Gray for her love and care for Dad for 13 years. Special thanks to Curt and Howard Gray for service and care for Dad, especially in his final days. Thank you also to Roze Room Hospice.
Bruce is survived by three daughters, Joyce (Kelly) Stevens, Karen Merrill and Sheri (Darin) Williams; two sisters, Joan (Lynn) Sheffield and Francine (Jim) Hofmann; 13 grandchildren, and a great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and sister, Carole (John) Poston.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr. where friends may call from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
