Carole S Heugly

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, Carole Strong Heugly returned home to a happy reunion with her loved ones on July 25, 2015. She passed away due to a fall and subsequent heart attack.Carole was born September 30, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Elias John Strong and Alice Oreta Thurgood. She graduated from South High. Mom received her "diamond" as a graduation gift. Carole married Joseph Lee Heugly July 18, 1942. She followed Lee while he was in the service. Grandma started the tradition of monthly family parties and the Christmas Eve celebration. Mom worked 17 years with Woolworth Company and later retired from Hayes Brothers Buick to have time to travel. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, decorating for holidays, painting ceramics, and watching Jazz basketball. Carole is survived by four children: John (Barbara) Heugly, Curt (Margie) Heugly, Carol Ann Barton, Linda (Leland) Jensen, 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and her sister, Joanne (Newell) Young. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, son Gary, sisters: Shirley Wardell and Claudia Domingo, granddaughter Stephanie Heugly Hardman, son-in-law Steven Barton, and great-grandson Hunter Payne.Funeral services will be held Saturday Aug 1, 2015 at the LDS Chapel, 275 East 10600 South, Sandy, UT at 11:30 am with a viewing beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Arrangements handled by Lake Hills Mortuary.
