Our adored mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Carolyn Ruth Vincent passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the Riverway Assisted Living Center, surrounded by her family. She returned to her loving Heavenly Father and was finally freed from battling Alzheimer’s Disease.
Carolyn was born March 3, 1939 in Augusta, GA. She met the love of her life at church, whom at that time was serving in the military. She married Richard (Dale) Vincent May 14, 1956 in Augusta, GA. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They moved to Utah about a year later. Carolyn and Dale brought five children into this world, Deborah, Shauna, Sherrie, Richard (Clay), and Alan. Together they raised their children and created beautiful adventures and memories with them. After cancer took Dale’s life, Carolyn’s mother, Gertrude, came out to live with her in Utah. For many years Carolyn cared selflessly for her mother, neighbors, and family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Where she always served wherever the Lord needed her to.
Over the past few years, Carolyn has fought hard and boldly against Alzheimer’s. She would dance and sing her heart out to every soul she met.
Carolyn Vincent was a warm, compassionate, and a vibrant woman who always went out of her way to help others no matter what. She was loving and full of energy. Her smiles were contagious and left light everywhere she went. She had a firm testimony of Jesus Christ and her Heavenly Father. She adored spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Carolyn came to this world with such extraordinary purpose, served diligently, and returned with honor. We will forever remember her and look forward to the day when we will see her again. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Shauna (Dan), Sherrie (Rod), Clay (Paula), 16 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother and his wife, Mike and Kaye Johnson. Graveside services will be held Friday, June 5, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, with a viewing 1 hour prior at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary. The family would like to thank Riverway Assisted Living and Atlas Hospice Care for the loving care they gave their mother.
