Carroll was born January 5, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Walter and Auline Peterson. She returned to her heavenly home March 29, 2017 after a life filled with love, work, and service, and 35 years of quietly suffering with peripheral neuropathy.
Carroll grew up with her incredible siblings, Donna Mae, Elden, Kathryn, Walter, and Marian. She was married and sealed to her sweetheart, Donald Clark Sevy, in the Salt Lake City Temple. She worked hard as a mother of six, and as a bookkeeper and seamstress for the family business, Sugar House Awning Company. Carroll and Don retired in 1997, served in the Cherry Hills New Jersey Mission for 18 months, and in the Jordan River Temple for many years.
Carroll blessed many women by serving in Relief Society, Young Womens and the Lambda Delta Sigma organization of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was exemplary at magnifying church callings. She was a gatherer—always inviting friends and family to her home. She was a classy lady who always looked nice, and treated others graciously. Carroll is a woman of faith and commitment. She taught her children, 18 grandchildren, and 52 great-grandchildren the importance of family. Her family motto was, “Not One Missing.”
We, who love and will miss her include, her children Christine (David) Heiner, Donald Clark Sevy Jr., Craig (MaryAnn) Sevy, Connie (Carlton) Fong, and Colleen (Brent) Farr. Her husband, infant daughter Cossette, and Donald Clark Jr.’s wife, Margaret, preceded her in death.
Viewings will be Sunday, April 2, from 6-8pm, and on Monday, April 3, from 9:30-10:45am. Funeral Services will be Monday, April 3, 11:00am. All will be held at Cottonwood 5th Ward, 5913 S. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah.
