Cathy Colleen Allen Norris, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, in Murray, Utah, after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was born on March 9, 1950, in Murray, Utah, to Neal E. Allen and Beverly Gressmen Allen.
Cathy was raised in Riverton, Utah, alongside two brothers and a sister. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From a young age, Cathy had a deep love for animals—especially cats. She often spent time with her dear friend Darla Thaxton dressing up their cats like dolls, giving them a blessing and a name. Cathy attended Bingham High School, where she was a Minerette.
Cathy became a proud mother when her son, Tyler, was born in 1972—he was truly her pride and joy. She later married the late Craig Kelly, who adopted Tyler. Cathy eventually married the love of her life, Ralph Bennett Norris, on June 21 in Evanston, Wyoming. Together, Cathy and Ralph built a beautiful life centered on shared passions—yard sales, antique collecting, and restoring classic cars. They proudly showcased their restored vehicles at car shows, earning several awards over the years.
Cathy and Ralph also shared a deep love for dogs, especially their German Shepherds, Demon and Huli, who often joined them on car show outings and loved riding in the convertibles.
Family meant everything to Cathy—especially her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. They cherished weekends spent with Cathy and Ralph, the dogs, and simple pleasures like eating ice cream on the porch. Cathy and Ralph loved attending their grandson’s baseball games and watching the New York Yankees together on television. Cathy found great peace in gardening, taking pride in her flowers and spending hours with Ralph on their back deck enjoying the yard she lovingly tended.
She also delighted in decorating their home for every holiday, with Christmas and Halloween being her favorites. Her granddaughter Paige and great granddaughter Lilli especially loved helping her decorate each season.
Cathy worked for over 40 years as a Customer Service Representative with A 1 Quality Glass / Safelite AutoGlass. She was known for her dedication, kindness, and warm spirit. Through her work, she formed many lifelong friendships—several of which remained close and supportive through her final days. Anyone who met Cathy was drawn to her outgoing personality and contagious positivity. Even on difficult days, she greeted others with a smile.
Cathy is survived by her husband, Ralph Bennett Norris; her son, Brendon (Cathy) Norris; and her daughter in law, Pam Kelly. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Paige Kelly, Trevor Kelly, Kylie (Chantz) Lefevre, Jace Kelly, Russell (Tori) Norris, and Preston Norris. She is survived by one great grandchild, Lilli, and was joyfully anticipating the arrival of another great grandson, Henry, in June. Cathy is also survived by her siblings: Michael (Vickie) Allen, Kelly (Darlene) Allen, and Penni (Lindsay) Shepherd.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Neal and Beverly Allen, and her beloved son, Tyler Allen Kelly.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah.
