

Christel was born on September 22, 1940, in Stuttgart, Germany.
At the age of seventeen, Christel emigrated to the United States with her parents, Erwin and Charlotte Wurster and her sister Traude (Davis). She embraced her new life and home with joyful enthusiasm.
In 1960, Christel met Wilford Bothe, the love of her life. Their connection was immediate and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on April 20, 1961. Together they built a life grounded in faith, hard work and devotion.
Christel was a loving wife and mother. She and Wilford raised their two children, Michael and Michelle, in a warm and loving home which also became a refuge for countless friends, neighbors, and anyone in need of warmth, belonging, or a meal at her table.
Christel’s life was also deeply rooted in her faith in Jesus Christ. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served for many years in the church as a Young Women’s President, Relief Society President, Teacher and various other callings. Her Christlike charity and love had and still have a powerful influence in the lives of those she served
Christel cherished beauty in all its forms. She was a gifted artist, gardener and decorator. She filled her home with lovely artwork, flowers and music. She truly made the world around her a more beautiful place.
Christel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wilford. She is survived by her two children: Michael (Taylor) & Michelle (Roger), five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Her life was a testament to perseverance through hardship, the beauty of family, and the quiet strength of a faithful heart.
