Christianne Louise Caffee

Christianne Caffee passed away July 11 just outside of Bethany Beach, DE, one of her favorite places. She spent her final days as “Grammy” playing with her 10 grandchildren, eating crabs, and sitting with her beloved husband on the back porch. She loved and hugged and served with everything she had until her final moments!

Christianne was born in Detroit, MI on June 2, 1955 to Fredrick and Carrell Weiss. She grew up in Bethesda Maryland with her sister Barbara Waggy. She attended Whitman High School where she met the love of her life and future husband David Caffee.

David and Chris were married in the Washington DC LDS Temple on December 27, 1975 and over the course of the following decade lived in 4 different states before coming home for good to Maryland. Together they had four children with 3 surviving. Losing Steven at birth was a defining moment in Chris’ life that deepened her compassion and magnified her love for Dan, Ben, Anna, and later her 10 grandchildren.

Chris was a natural nurturer and worked for many years as a pre-school teacher as well as serving faithfully the young women of her church congregation, building cherished friendships and touching the lives of hundreds. David and Chris had a passion for traveling and visited all 50 states and over 50 countries, but she was always most happy at home with her family. She loved Jesus and loved her neighbor and filled her days and decades with thousands of individual acts of service and kindness. She had a gift for knowing just what to say or do or give to make someone feel loved, valued, comforted, and seen. For the past 20 years, Chris endearingly became Grammy and poured into each of her grandchildren.

She is preceded by her parents Fredrick and Carroll Weiss, her son Steven, and her daughter-in-law Elise. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, David her children Daniel, Ben (Diana), Anna (Kevin), her sister Barb (Eric), and grandkids Bella, Lucy, Madeline, Brock, Lilly, Olivia, Emma, Lauren, Kate, and Claire.

Memorial Services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S Highland Dr. Millcreek, Utah on August 15, 2026 at 10:30 am, with a visitation beginning at 9:30 am.
