She transferred to Moran Eye Center from Rocky Mountain Eye Center, where she started in 1996. Even though she was retired, she continued to work part time, as needed. Prior to Rocky Mountain Eye Center, she worked many years at Sardinies Sandwich Shop where she managed multiple locations.
Cynthia was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to her three children (Julie Lovendahl (Neil Smith), Stacie Lovendahl, and Brent Lovendahl (Michelle Coovert) and five grandchildren, Anna Guadarrama, Teegan Smith, Vanessa Perez, Ryton Smith, and Jaida Smith. Her love and legacy live on through each of them, as they carry forward the values and warmth she instilled in their lives.
In addition to her immediate family, Cynthia is survived by her stepfather, Reynold Astle. She was also a beloved sibling with her brothers and sisters: Mike Chappell (Roseann), Scott Chappell (Marlynn), Jennifer Astle Higley (Corbin), and Jeff Astle (Stephanie).
While Cynthia's love and spirit endure in the hearts of her family, she is preceded in death by her father, Keith Chappell (June) and her mother, Faun Nelson Astle.
Cynthia's legacy is one that will be fondly remembered by a multitude of people for an array of reasons. Among her many passions, her love for sports was truly remarkable. Soccer and football held a special place in her heart, with these sports being her absolute favorites. She enthusiastically cheered on any team her grandchildren were a part of, demonstrating her unwavering support for their endeavors. Additionally, Cynthia was an avid fan of the Real Salt Lake and Utah Royals soccer teams, where she found joy in every match.
Her football allegiance lay with the San Francisco 49ers, and she held a deep admiration for Steve Young, considering him her all-time favorite player. Cynthia's passion for sports extended beyond the sidelines; she had a competitive spirit for billiards. Engaging in various leagues and participating in pool tournaments.
But Cynthia's impact transcended the world of sports. She left an indelible mark on the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, enthusiasm, and unwavering support brought joy and inspiration to those around her. Cynthia's absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt, and she will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of sharing in her remarkable journey through life.
