

Darla Phillips was born December 6th 1931 in Provo, Utah to Lymon and Helen Robbins. After high school, Darla went to secretary school and was award #1 in her class. She went to work for a group law practice, in Provo, and was Sherman Christianson’s secretary. Sherman was appointed to the federal bench and became a federal judge. Darla followed, now judge Christianson, to Salt Lake and continued to be his legal secretary until he retired. That’s when Darla retired and began to play golf. This was her favorite past time. She spent many years following the Utah Jazz and had the best of times doing this with her brother Richard. In 2018 Darla sold her condo and moved into Olympus Ranch. She had countless friends and was loved by all.
Darla passed away peacefully early Sunday morning September 27, 2026 in her home at The Ranch Independent living center. She was 94 years old and was still extremely independent until her last week of life. Special thanks to her caregivers, Anna, Jo, Lindah and Marilly. Darla was well loved by the staff at The Ranch and they cared for her as well.
She was pre deceased by her husband Melvin Phillips, her parents, and siblings Richard Robbins and Beverly Metcalf.
She is survived by her son Brent Phillips and his wife Paula.
As well as her grand daughters Jessica Miller and her husband Joseph and Sarah Darlene. Also her two great grandsons Micah and Anderson Miller. She will be missed!
Grave side service will be Friday, October 9th, 2026 at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Enter off of 3300 South.
