West Valley, Utah, Darlene Ann Bright, 58, died from complications of Covid-19 on May 29th, 2021, at the University of Utah Hospital. She was born June 30th, 1962, in Salt Lake City, Utah. The daughter of Albert Whiteman Sr. (deceased) and Edna (Martinez) Slattery (deceased).
Darlene knew Marty Bright for 2 years before they were married, October 7th, 1978, (Sealed September 5, 1992, in the Salt Lake Temple) they have been best friends and married for 43 years. She was and is his life and best friend.
Darlene was highly active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, she had many callings that she enjoyed doing. Darlene was active in the Special Needs communities both with Special Olympics and Special Needs active program for the church.
Darlene was and is a loving wife, mother, grandmother. She lived her life around the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was listening to General Conference and the Prophet was talking about how many ear piercings a person should have and he stated a person should only have one, so she took out 2 sets and never put them back in as she had 3 sets at the time. She loved helping others in need if you needed something she was there.
She is predeceased by both her parents, 3 brothers, Albert Jr., Gary and Joseph Whiteman, and 4 children; 2 daughters, Melanie and Ricki, and 2 sons, Kameron and Jayson.
She is survived by husband and best friend Marty Bright, son Kory (Uvania) of Washington. A beautiful grandson Kaius of Washington, brother, Charles Whiteman (Kamina) of Utah and sister, Vickey Guy (Mike) of Colorado. Many extended family and loving friends who all miss her deeply. Until we meet again.
