Debbie was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to LaMoine and Dora Cameron. She married Manni Pelzer in 1981, they were married for 25 years and later divorced. Together, they had two children, Nick Pelzer and Brooke Traylor. The family moved to Montana in 1998, which is where Debbie considered home as the Bitterroot Valley held a very special place in her heart. She moved to Ivins, Utah in 2017 and relocated back to Salt Lake City, Utah in 2024 to be closer to family and friends.
Debbie was devoted to her family and truly loved being a mom. She always put her kids first, attending every sporting event, school function, and supported Nick and Brooke in any way that she could. She ensured that her home was welcoming and comfortable not just for her kids but for all their friends.
She always saw the good in everyone and everything. Debbie loved animals, especially dogs; her dream was to save them all. One of her favorite past times was walking her sweet Roxie dog and taking her for car rides. Debbie always had extra treats in her pocket for any puppies she would meet while out and about.
Anything Debbie set her mind to she could accomplish. She loved the mountains, being outdoors, camping, and sitting by the fire. She truly enjoyed the simple things in life like a good conversation, reading books, playing cards, or putting together a puzzle. You would always find a puzzle in progress on her kitchen table. She loved tending to gardens and picking fresh fruit for homemade jam. She was a very talented jewelry maker and enjoyed making hand sewn baby blankets.
Debbie will be deeply missed by her son Nick Pelzer, daughter Brooke (Glenn) Traylor, brother William Cameron, aunt Merlene (Rex) Huggins, sister-in-law Terry (Leonard) Dennison, niece Tiffany Dennison, nephews Cody (Lizzy) Dennison and Ian Pelzer, niece Melissa Kelly, lifelong friends Julie Kilgore, Jan Grover, and everyone else whose lives she touched.
