Donald R. Burgi

May 7, 1927 - May 10, 2011

Donald R. Burgi, 84, passed away on May 10, 2011, in Salt Lake City, Utah from complications due to pneumonia. Don was born May 7, 1927, to David E. Burgi and Louella Evans. He married Joan Thomas on June 22, 1951, later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married 59 years and enjoyed a loving and devoted relationship. They were blessed with three children, Richard, Kathleen, and Deborah. He worked for Salt Lake County for 32 years as Probate Director and Chief Deputy County Clerk. He loved to travel and to spend time with his family. He was a dedicated fisherman and loved camping, hunting and family vacations. Don was a World War II veteran. Don was a member of the Grandview Second Ward where he was a High Priest. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and Canyon Creek caregivers for their amazing care and devotion to Don.

Don is survived by his three children, Richard L. Burgi (Jeanne Burgi), Kathleen Donahue (Brian Donahue) and Deborah R. Burgi, three grandsons Brett (Jennifer), Tyler and Cody, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City Utah at 12:00pm. Friends and family may call the same day and location, one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park
