She grew up just a block away from Derks Baseball Field and graduated from South High School. After marrying Clarence Dell, they moved their home to the Poplar Grove neighborhood. Surrounded by family and friends, Donna cherished summers and weekends spent boating, fishing, and hunting at the Strawberry Reservoir. Later, after moving the family cabin to Fruitland, these trips continued to be a favorite tradition.
Donna began her career at State Savings & Loan and the Secretary of State's office at the Utah State Capitol. She then became a dedicated legal secretary for Robert S. Campbell Jr, a role she held for many years. Upon retiring, Donna moved to West Valley City, where she enjoyed gardening, traveling with family, and maintaining a daily exercise routine with her beloved neighbors.
Donna is survived by her sisters, LaRae Bardsley and Kathryn Gayle Lisonbee; her children, Michael Lee Dell (Sara), Gerri Dell Barten (Ernie), and Randy Mayson Dell; as well as five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sarah Marie Fullmer Mayson; her husband, Clarence LeRoy Dell; and her daughter-in-law, Susan Wood Dell. Donna will be remembered for her joyful smile, her kind and caring spirit, and the love she shared with her family.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff, associates, and residents of Sunrise at Holladay, where Donna spent her final years enjoying activities with new friends and her sisters. A special thank you to the team at Inspiration Home Health & Hospice, and especially Haley, for her dedication to Donna's care and for keeping our family well-informed during this time.
A viewing and graveside service will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S Highland Dr, Millcreek, UT 84106, on Friday, May 9, 2025, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
