Our beloved wife and mother, Donna Rae Johnson, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family April 2, 2026. She was born in Loup City Nebraska to Lloyd and Dorothy Burkey. Donna received her LPN nursing degree and was trained by Nuns. She worked as a nurse in Idaho Falls where she met and married the love of her life, Harold A. Johnson and were happily married for 65 years.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her greatest joy was caring for and spoiling her nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. She loved to do activities with her grandchildren such as gardening, baking and crafts. She was skilled at caring for many children at the same time shown by her over 20 years tending groups of children in her home that she loved as her own. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and diligently served for 14 years as a nursery leader in her ward.
Her happiest moments were spending time with her family on the family farm in Idaho. Some of our fondest memories of Donna on the farm included hauling hay, feeding the lambs, swimming in the canals, quilting and making grandma Burkey’s pancakes. She loved to shop and get her hair done weekly.
She had a special place in her heart for animals. She cared for a variety of animals and pets through her life that she loved dearly, especially her companions Marmie and Lady.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Dorothy, her sisters, Delores and Margie and her beloved and missed oldest son, Greg. She is survived by her husband, Harold, her children Ken, Becky, Kim (David), Chris (Kim) and nine grandchildren, Megan, Kyle (Camilla), Cole, Emma, Ashley, Hannah, Leah, Charley, Mary and one great grandson, Eliott.
A celebration of life was attended by her immediate family on April 4, 2026. Internment took place at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary.
