Edson Ivan Gonzalez, age 30, former son, big brother, godfather, and best friend passed away Saturday, December 3rd, 2022. He was born in Mexico City at 4:00 pm on the dot. He graduated from West High School in 2010. Edson was a top performer salesman for every company he ever worked for. He had a love and passion for his field. Everything that Edson sought out to do he made it his obsession. He started working as young as 12 years old on his own accord whether it was pushing around a lawn mower going door to door, helping dad around the house, or sweeping at elementary schools he did it with his head held high. Just through and through a hard worker with a big heart. Edson’s talents were many. He was an extremely ambitious, disciplined, and competitive individual. He inspired many with his presence alone. He could have a conversation with you about anything. Edson loved reading and had an extensive knowledge of a variety of topics. He always had a new venture up his sleeve and constantly looking for ways to improve his life and to be better than he was yesterday. He wanted all of those around him to succeed with him. Edson was a world traveler, he walked on this earth far and wide and was lucky enough to explore Mexico, Spain, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Germany, and Rome to name a few. He was also a religious runner. Rain, snow, or shine Edson would be up at the crack of dawn ready to run or bike. His most frequented trail was right by the Jordan River. Edson was a foodie at heart, he could show you all the best spots in town. But above all he loved his family. He is survived by his father Ivan Guzman, mother Irma Gonzalez, and two younger siblings Janick and Columba Gonzalez. The family would like to express their gratitude for all the love and support given by everyone during this extremely painful time.
Services will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at the Rose Park North Stake Center, 1155 N 1200 W in Salt Lake City.
