Eric was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ronald E. Wolcott and Karen Hauge. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harvey and Maxine Wolcott, Oscar and Jeanne Hauge, and his uncle, James Wolcott.
Eric began pursuing his lifelong passion for music well before graduating from Olympus High School in 1993. On September 2, 2002, he married Brandi M. Boss, and together they raised five beautiful children, Mercedes (Brady), Jessie (Danielle), Giovanni, Olevia, and Jette. Throughout his life, they built a family surrounded by deep friendships and unwavering love.
Eric also cherished his five beautiful grandchildren, Roland, Lyric, Leo, Bowie, and Rio, whom he loved beyond measure. His love for his Wolcott family, the Boss family, and all of his fans was unmatched.
An exceptional athlete, Eric loved football, hockey, swimming, boating, skiing, soccer, and just about any sport he had the opportunity to play. While pursuing his music career, he spent nearly half of his life working at Wolcott's, where he was incredibly proud of his family's legacy. You could often hear him talking proudly about his father, Ron, his sister, Amanda, his grandparents, Harv and Max, his Uncle Jim, his Aunt Janet, and his cousin, Jody.
Eric was a master optician who helped manage the lab, coached Granite Little League football, developed an even greater love for soccer, and shared his passion for music every day with his children and grandchildren.
His love of music led to years of listening, learning, practicing, writing, and performing alongside his closest friends, his brothers in music. He came alive on stage and always sought to share that passion with his fans. Whether performing, meeting people in the crowd, swapping stories, or proudly bringing his children on stage, Eric made every show personal.
Not everyone gets the chance to live their dreams, but Eric did just that. He spent a large part of his life sharing the stage with his best friends, his Boss brothers, and many of his musical heroes. His larger-than-life presence made him unforgettable to so many, and the "Kevin and Eric Show" was truly one of a kind.
Eric's love for Star Wars, superheroes, comedy, countless movies, the Utah Utes, and ridiculous inside jokes ran deep and will forever remain part of his legacy. His extraordinary talents as a performer, songwriter, master optician, father, and grandfather have left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His infectious charm, quick wit, booming laugh, and boundless compassion will be deeply missed.
Eric's family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love and support from his friends, fans, and community. While they grieve his passing, they will always be anchored by the memories he created and the legacy he leaves behind. Living life to the fullest, regardless of the circumstances, is admirable. Doing so while carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders was uniquely Eric, our KING mf.
Eric would have wanted everyone to know that his work here is done, and he is off on another exciting adventure. Because of that, celebrating his life is absolutely in order.
A Celebration of Life in Eric's honor will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84106.
