Esther Angela de Lannoy Cloward, our beloved Grandma Esther, Mother, Sister, daughter and friend was born in Apeldoorn Gelderland, Netherlands on June 17th, 1963, and gained her wings surrounded by loved ones on July 24th, 2023. Esther was battling a very long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Esther was born in the Netherlands with the royal title of Jungfrau, emigrating to Utah at the age of 2 ½. She was the oldest child of Elizabeth M.R. de Lannoy and Willam H.F. de Lannoy, followed by two younger siblings, Joyce I.E. de Lannoy Felt and Martin W.L. de Lannoy. She loved her family so much and always had something positive to share about them. She was also greatly blessed with an amazing friend group that was formed at Rosslyn Heights Elementary and lasted to the end. She graduated from Highland High School and was always so proud that she had the Highland haircut. Esther was the mother of 3 children that she loved very much. Her oldest Naythen Peter, middle Jaysen Matthew and youngest Amber Leigh Cloward (Connor MacLeod) were the pride and joys of her life. For a large portion of Esther's life, she was always in service to people. She was a faithful church member of the LDS church, and she served as a Scout Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Nursery Leader and always a listening ear. She would always talk about how she was named after the Old Testament Esther and how strong she was, so she had huge shoes to fill. And she filled them so graciously. Throughout her life she had many jobs that she loved, but her top jobs were always Substitute Teaching for the Salt Lake City School District and working at Pebbles in my pocket. She would touch many people's hearts through her teaching job and loved being a cool substitute teacher. Esther always brought joy to her wards and neighborhoods and made friends quickly due to her warm nature and the most infectious laugh anyone has ever heard. She was always grateful to be alive and share that happiness with everyone around her. She loved delivering Christmas gifts every year and friends will remember her home-made cards or lotions and soaps which were always from her favorite store---Bath and Body works. Esther had a dream that one day she would own a library and boy did she want to fulfill that dream. She absolutely loved buying books and scrapbook supplies and could be found reading and making cards in her spare time. Esther had 5 grandchildren Destiny (Amber), Benjamin (Amber), Honorary granddaughter Shyla (Amber), Charli (Naythen), Jordan (Naythen) which were her pride and joys. She always had stories about them and talked about how much she loved them and was so proud of how they were growing into amazing humans, and she wanted to be there for all their milestones in life. She frequently told her daughter how blessed she was to be able to have the opportunity to be part of her grandchildren’s lives. Destiny got to be there and give Esther her last hug, which was a special moment for them both and Benjamin and Esther used to go on walks in the kitchen together where Ben would pull Grandma Esther with her walker all around. Shyla and her would talk on Facebook and she enjoyed her posts. Esther spent her last few months being taken care of by Amber and living at Naythen’s house because she was very adamant that she did not want to ever be away from family. Esther was one of the most positive, grateful, loving and strong women. Esther would reach out to her children every day for a phone call to tell them she loved them, she is so very loved and will be missed by so many but as her mom would always tell her and she always told her kids, "Buckle up kid" which was her way of saying things will be ok. She is preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth M.R. de Lannoy and father Willam H.F. de Lannoy, her Nephew Adam Christopher de Lannoy Felt and her grandparents Martinus and Elizabeth Rouw. Esther is survived by her sister Joyce Felt, her brother Martin de Lannoy, Her Brother-in-law Eric Felt and sister-in-law Laura de Lannoy and their children, her three children Amber Cloward (Connor MacLeod) and children, Naythen Cloward and children and Jaysen Cloward, and all of her nieces and nephews and their children among many others blessed to know her.
