Fairy Grandmother/Fabulous Firefighter Farilyne’s last alarm came the morning of October 23rd, 2018. Her adventures started May 28th, 1943 born to Hudson and Fern Francom, raised in Salt Lake City. She attended Highland High School and later Ricks College.
She and husband Paul raised their children in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, Idaho Falls, Idaho where the family was sealed for time and eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple, and South Jordan, Utah. Fari and Paul were married for nearly fifty years, recently celebrating the anniversary of their first date in September of this year.
While doing typical mom duties like PTA, Cub Scouts, and Church callings, Fari decided to add a little excitement to her life by training to be an EMT and Firefighter. After certifying, she spent many years with the South Jordan Fire Department and also trained thousands of students in CPR and First Aid with the Utah Emergency Medical Training Council.
She, Paul, and the kids shared many wonderful times traveling across the US, Canada, Europe, and Mexico. Her trips to England with her daughters were among her favorites.
In her later years she enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren attending soccer, rugby, volleyball, and other events, and kept active through beekeeping, gardening, and participating with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
She was a very tenacious, intellectually curious person who was constantly learning new skills and hobbies. She was a voracious reader and kept her mind engaged with both fiction and non-fiction books. She was an early adopter of e-Reader technology, utilizing a tablet for reading books and scriptures, but still enjoyed a trip to the library to pick up hardbound copies of new novels.
In pursuit of bettering herself, she recently received her Young Womanhood Recognition Medallion for completing her personal progress goals (Finally!).
She is survived by Husband Paul, Children: Tony Malovich(Jana), Mike Malovich, Michele Malovich, Chris Malovich(Katy), Matthew Malovich(Kristin), Stephanie Chamberlain(Brian), Jon Malovich(Valerie), Alissa Malovich, and Tanya Bogdanova, Grandchildren: Ashlee Winegar(Sam), Craig Blom(Erika), Alex Malovich(Ali),Michael Malovich Jr, Jared Gwynn(Ambree), Brittany Chen(James), Quinn Malovich, Andy Malovich(Lauren), Megan Malovich, Devin Malovich(Aubrey), Matthew Malovich Jr., Jacob Malovich, Isaac Malovich, Jordan Malovich, Maren Malovich, Joseph Owen, Katerina Malovich, Jessica Malovich, Josh Malovich, Daria Malovich, Gracie Malovich, Abigail Chamberlain, Tanner Malovich, Ellie Malovich, Chase Chamberlain, Braden Malovich, Peter Malovich, Benjamin Malovich, Nathan Chamberlain, Ashlyne Malovich, Olivia Chamberlain, Mason Malovich, Christopher Chamberlain, Ulyana Bogdanova, Great grandchildren: Cruz Blom, Brielle, Hadley, and Josie Winegar, Evie, and Rosie Malovich, Oaklee and Jaxon Gwynn, and Charlotte Lindsay, Sister Baunie Nelson(Scott) and brother Paul Francom.
Services will be held at the South Jordan River Ridge 4th Ward 1244 W Chavez Dr.(9700 S) on October 30th at 11:00 am with visitation on the 29th from 7:00-9:00 pm, and also one hour prior to the funeral. Interment in Spanish Fork City Cemetery next to her parents Hudson and Fern.
