Geraldine (Gerri) Louise Zdunich Nate, age 84, passed away on November 15, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born August 14, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents, Pete Zdunich and Ellen Maude Zdunich.
Gerri’s garden was filled with beautiful flowers that she loved and the beautiful iris that was passed down from her mother and uncle. Gerri was a lifelong supporter of the Democratic Party and was a believer in equality. She fought for each person’s rights to building a happy and prosperous life.
Gerri went out of her way to make everyone feel special by baking birthday cakes and holiday pies. She organized holiday feasts and family reunions to the delight of everyone. Gerri kept track of our family history and researched our genealogy. Gerri created clothing, costumes, and the most beautiful quilts for children and many others. Gerri was so proud of her family. There were thousands of pictures she took and shared with everyone as a statement to this.
Gerri is survived by her loving husband, Ray T. Nate; her children: Mike (Teri) Nate, Jeff (Heidi) Nate, Bill (Lynn) Nate, Debbie Nate, and Laura Nate; her sister, Sandra (Lee) Fincher; brothers, Steve (Linda) Starr and Gordon (Chris) Zdunich; 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Gerri is preceded in death by her father, Pete Zdunich; mother, Ellen (Maude) Zdunich; brothers, Kenneth Lloyd and Arthur (Bud) Lloyd; sister, Sharon Mower; grandsons, Dean P. Nate and Lester R. Nate.
An evening viewing for Geraldine will be held Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah 84106. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 9, 2024, at 1:00 PM, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah 84106. An interment will occur Monday, December 9, 2024, at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah 84106.
