1940 ~ 2018
On Monday, December 10, 2018, Glen Ensign Davies passed away at the age of 78 surrounded by his family. Glen was born on August 11, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Stanley Glen Davies and Violet Meyers. He graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah Law School and was an honored member of the School's Law Review. He married Maurine Matheson in the Salt Lake Temple on December 17, 1965. Together, they raised 5 children.
Of all his opportunities to serve in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he relished the chance to teach the gospel he loved. He served in the Southwest Indian Mission. Later, he and his wife served 5 years in the Salt Lake Inner City Mission.
Glen often captured moments of family, friends, and places visited, through the lens of a camera. He was passionate about the Utah Jazz and was a Utah Man, Sir.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Donna Gardner (Sherm), and his son, Scott. He is survived by his wife; his children Lee Ann Gardner (Paul), Jeff (Kristine), daughter-in-law Robyn Davies, Matthew, and Alison Thomas; 16 Grandkids; 4 Great Grandkids; and sister Joy Dean Thurmond (Jack).
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 11:00 am at the Valley View Stake Center building located 2245 East 3900 South, SLC, UT. A viewing will be held at the same address the night before from 6-8pm, and the morning of the service from 10-10:45am.
