A devoted daughter to Gloria and Marco, and the guiding light as a big sister to Rossy and Rolin, Gloria’s life was a masterclass in love and devotion. She was a cherished aunt to Victor, Diana, Marcela, and Michael, and a kindred spirit to every child lucky enough to cross her path. To know Gloria was to know a friend who spoke the language of kindness fluently, especially to those who shared her passion for cats, the sanctuary of a good book, and a deep, abiding faith in God. With a wit that could brighten the darkest room, she found magic in life’s small luxuries, dreaming in the romantic hues of French and Italian landscapes.
She was a perpetual chaser of sunsets, poised and thoughtful, offering opinions that were as accurate as they were gentle. To be welcomed by Gloria was to be met with a dazzling smile and eyes that radiated a warmth that stayed with you long after the conversation ended. Fiercely brave and protective of those she held dear, she was the ultimate champion for her loved ones—their loudest cheerleader and most constant source of encouragement until every dream was realized and every goal achieved.
A perfect example of resilience and quiet endurance, Gloria leaves behind a legacy of strength that her family in Honduras will carry forward with profound pride and aching hearts. Our original and favorite bookworm has turned her final page, but her story lives on in every holiday and celebration—traditions that will be lovingly continued by Tato.
“Cookie,” you were the most amazing big sister in the universe, teaching us everything truly important about how to live and who to be. You lived kindly, loved without reservation, and laughed without any regard of your surroundings that became our favorite rhythm. You have truly left a legacy that time cannot dim.
Here is one of her favorite eulogies:
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free!
I follow the plan God laid for me.
I saw His face, I heard His call,
I took His hand and left it all…
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
And if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss…
Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss.
My life’s been full, I’ve savoured much:
Good times, good friends, a loved-one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief—
Don’t shorten yours with undue grief.
Be not burdened with tears of sorrow,
Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow.
