Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend died peacefully on August 11, 2024. He was born in Hamburg, Germany to Alwin and Rosa Heuer. He experienced living through World War II in Hamburg as a boy and also spent a lot of time in his mother’s hometown of Wilster living with his aunt and cousins. In 1951 he landed on the shores of Norfolk, Virginia with his mother.
From there, they moved to Bountiful, Utah. While in Bountiful, he worked briefly for the city. This is also where his mother started working for the woman who would later become the US Secretary of the Treasury. Henry traveled with her to Washington DC and began working for United Airlines. During this time, Henry was drafted into the US Army where he served two years. After his time in the service, he returned to Utah and continued his 38 year career with United. He went on the first date with the love of his life, Isolde Reger in December 1957. They married in the Salt Lake Temple, four months and four days later on April 18th, 1958.
Henry had a passion for building model planes, ships and tanks, and making old guns shoot straight. He was a very generous man. He loved giving airplanes to neighbor boys and grandsons. When he wasn’t building a model or cleaning a gun, he could be found outside working on one of his camp trailer projects.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bruno Heuer. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Isolde, his four kids; Diana Spencer, Errol (Dawn Lynn) Heuer, Clark Heuer, Julia (Mitch) Tucker, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was a family man. His wife and kids were his life and he would do anything for his family. He will be dearly missed. We love you Dad. We love you Grandpa. I love you Darling.
