J Allen Call, born January 26, 1926, quietly returned home to his Father in Heaven on March 24, 2018. He was born in Rigby, Idaho, to Allan Willard Call and Lilly Poole. During his school years, “J” worked as a theater projectionist for the Royal and Main Theaters in Rigby. He graduated from Rigby High School in 1944 and joined the Navy four months later serving in the Philippines as a radio operator in the South Pacific.
Dad married Margarete Emma Evans on November 17, 1951, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on May 28, 1992. He was employed by the U.S. Department of Transportation under the administrations of the CAA and FAA. He was employed in Alaska, Colorado, and Salt Lake City as an air-traffic controller. Dad was also employed by various local electronic firms as an electronic technician. He owned his own business in television repair for several years and enjoyed the hobby as an amateur-radio operator (W7KSG).
Dad was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a firm testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ. He and Mom served as ordinance workers in the Salt Lake Temple for 16 years. He is survived by his three children, Randy (Nancy), Richard (Channa), Debbie (Scott), his brothers Don (Loah), Charles (Grace), Rex (Ruth), and sister-in-law, Corma Evans. He has 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018, at the Grandview 3rd Ward, 2930 South 2000 East, SLC, UT, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends may visit Thursday evening at the ward, March 29, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
