Our loving mother, Jacquelyn Schumsky Hayes, 89, born March 20, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away of natural causes on March 4, 2026, and has returned to her Heavenly Father. A cherished presence to those who knew her, Jacquelyn will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection.
Jacquelyn was married to Eugene Hayes for 53 years until his passing in 2004. Together they raised five children.
Jacquelyn loved movies, concerts, and plays. She especially enjoyed watching Hallmark movies and NASCAR racing. She was also talented in crochet and embroidery, and she loved to read.
Jacquelyn is survived by her children: Cynthia Hayes (Gene), Brent Hayes, Karen Case (Chuck, deceased), and Sherry Hayes (Wally); and by her sister, Barbara Johnson. Jacquelyn also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Jacquelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hayes; her son, RB Eugene Hayes; her mother, Fredna Crawford; and her great-great granddaughter, Delilah Layne Smalley.
A viewing will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, UT 84106, on March 11, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A graveside service will follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, UT 84106, on March 11, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Millcreek.
