She was born to late parents Louese and Francis Johnson, March 1, 1950, in Ogden, Utah. She has five siblings: Sandy (deceased), Bryce, Joel, Lenore, and Vicky (deceased). Janeel graduated from Olympus High School in 1968 and received a BA in Elementary Education from the College of Weber State in Ogden Utah.
She married the late Steven Gould Salmond in 1972. Janeel is survived by five children: Micah (Emily) Salmond, of Ocean Shores, Washington; Jeremiah (Kirsten) Salmond, of Colfax, Washington; Daniel, Joshua; and Seth (Marissa) Salmond, of Ogden, Utah. She is survived by eight grandchildren. Janeel was predeceased by her loving husband in 2021.
Janeel was an accomplished mother and teacher that put everyone’s welfare above her own. She was selfless in her actions that conveyed love through kindness and dedication. She taught her children the importance of family through words and actions that will be seen in the coming generations.
Funeral services will be held on May 13th at 11 am at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary funeral home. Burial will take place immediately after.
