Janet Lennox Murdoch Wilson, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and the littlest angel passed away July 31, 2025, at the age of 80 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Janet was born June 18, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah to David Lennox Murdoch and Ora Maurine Clark.
She attended 4 years at Brigham Young University majoring in elementary education, where she met her eternal companion, Charles Allan Wilson and they were married July 12, 1968, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are the parents of three Daughters: Michele Diane Cunningham (Barry), Margo Ann Lybbert (Rick) and Meg Elizabeth Cunningham (Jeremy).
She was an active member of the LDS Church serving faithfully in many church callings. Her main love was the Primary children where she served twice as the Primary President. Then after many years in the Primary and other organizations, she served in the Relief Society as Counselor and/or as secretary to six Relief Society Presidents where she was given the title as “The Littlest Angel” because of her great love for all, service and the way she touched so many. She taught kindergarten for 15 years where she was known as “Miss Janet”.
She and Allan built their home on the piece of property given to them by her parents on the same acreage where she grew up. She loved her beautiful home, yard and gardens. She enjoyed every moment she could there and raised their children on that same property and remained there her whole life until they moved into a Senior independent living Center, Sunrise of Holladay in 2022. She loved the pool that her father had built especially for her because of health issues she had as a young girl. It became a gathering place for all the friends and cousins during the summer. Her health issues followed her throughout her life causing many surgeries and hospital stays. Nothing could bring a smile to her face faster than her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved making memories with them especially on the Fourth of July. However, in addition, she had many special birthday and holiday parties for them. From her experience as a pre-school teacher, she kept them entertained with fun games and songs. None will forget Easter egg hunts to find the Golden Egg, Christmas Eve parties and always family Sunday dinners the last Sunday of the month plus the Grammy drawer. The Grammy drawer consisted of toys and games they could select after they told her of one kind deed they had done.
Surviving are two daughters, Margo A. Lybbert (Rick) Meg E. Cunningham (Jeremy) 8 grandchildren, Janessa Cunningham, Lindsie Sullivan (Hadlee), Spencer Cunningham, Troy Lybbert, Mallory Lybbert, Cameron Cunningham, Mackenzie Cunningham and Cade Cunningham. Also, 2 great-grandchildren, Maverick Sullivan and Saylor Sullivan. Each one carries a special place in her heart.
Preceding her in death are her parents, a daughter, Michele D. Cunningham (Barry), Brothers William R. Murdoch (Arthel), Michael C. Murdoch (Connie).
Special thanks to Aspen Ridge Home Health and Hospice and the incredible hospice nurse, Laura Wardle and the exceptional hospice CNA, Alicia Lopez who cared for her 6 days a week for two years.
