Jeff loved many things. Namely: planes, trains and automobiles (Mainly exotics - especially old ones). He loved/drooled often over Crystal Gayle's hair, and loved having Iceburg shakes.
Jeff was born May 7, 1962 to Bobbie Lee Oviatt and Lois (Maurine) Mansfield in the "old" LDS Hospital. He got into a lot of mischief as a young child/teenager. From digging a large hole in the backyard & burying a lot of Dad's tools. Then he climbed up a tree, got stuck and made his dear Mother (who was terrified of heights) come up to retrieve him. When they lived in the 400 N. block of Chicago Street, they had a chimney. Of course, Jeff needed to climb the chimney (like Santa does). He was met by his mother and a garden hose, and told to wash off all the soot before he could come back in the house. He helped the construction workers build 4oo W. which furthered his love for construction equipment. When we had the flood of 1983 in SLC Utah, he helped fill sandbags to prevent them from flooding rose park.
He often reminisced that he served the same mission as his Dad; the Ontario-Toronto Canada mission, only 20 years later 1980-1982. He even got to meet some of the families that Dad converted when he served there. He'd say that he was the last one off the plane & that Mom thought that he stayed in Canada. (He did ask the stewardess if she could turn the plane around and go back to Canada. She said no.) So he left the plane to meet his mom and his adorable 2 year old sister Amanda was hiding behind mom's dress peeking around to see who the new guy was, because she didn't know him yet.
On September 15, 2001 Jeff married Ina Marie George. They were sealed in the Bountiful Utah LDS Temple May 15, 2003. We've enjoyed most of our 24 years together.
He loved visiting his Grandma & Grandpa Oviatt's farm in Emery, Utah every summer. His cousin Rob would come up/down from where he was living at the time and they would have fun. Jeff loved riding his favorite horse "Charlie". He loved working on the farm, sitting in the thinking tree, hiking the mountains with Dad and Amber. One time they were met at the top by a huge owl with its outstretched wings, telling them that they weren't welcome there!
Jeff had many health problems that few knew about. He always tried to endure all the pain he had. I'm so grateful the he is finally out of pain! Now he is able to be with his dearly missed parents, meet Ina's Dad and catch up with his many friends that went on before him.
Jeff is survived by his wife and caregiver Ina, his two fur-babies Sophie & Pippin--they miss him!. He's also survived by 3 sisters, 5 Nephews, 1 Niece, 2 Great-Nieces and 2 Great-Nephews.
With all the pieces of my broken heart my Jeffrey, Ti Amo (Wifey)
