

Jerald was born in Delta, Utah on April 19, 1930, the fourth child of Frank Leo and Lola Harriet Colby. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who faithfully served his family, neighbors and friends throughout his life. He was the longest living and oldest member of the Richards Ward in Sugar House and spent eighty years there in the same home on 700 East.
Jerald served in the United States Army for three years during the Korean conflict where he transported wounded soldiers from the front line to the mobile army surgical hospital. After his military service, he resumed his job as a machine operator at Continental Bakery (Wonder Bread) where he eventually retired after 45 years.
Jerald was a quiet man who was always happy to see you and was unfailingly pleasant. He was well loved by those who knew him and will be missed.
Jerald is survived by his five nephews and four nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Donna Christensen and bothers James and Neil.

A funeral service will occur Friday, November 8, 2024 at 10:00 AM, 3401 S Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah 84106. An interment will occur Friday, November 8, 2024 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Dr, Millcreek, Utah 84106.
