Jesse Jackson was the Godfather of orthopedics out West. He personally changed the lives of thousands of young men and women for the better. I am one of those men. He gave me an opportunity twenty nine years ago that changed the course of my life. His legacy will never be forgotten.

Jess was one of the most generous people I have known, he also knew the power of the "Debit".
Jess lived every day to the fullest with passion and regard for others. He lived life on his terms.

To his wife's, children and grandchildren I say thank you for sharing the legend with the orthopedic community. Know that he had a tremendous influence and was respected by many.

Just heard about Jesse and I am so sorry that I could not attend the services to offer my sympathy to you and your family.  He was a very generous person and will always be remembered for the kindness he offered to me and my family over the years.  His friendship was one of sincereity and generosity.

I am sorry for your loss!  Uncle Jesse definitely lived life to the fullest.  I have so many Memories of my childhood being in your home.  Endless laughter, horse riding, sleepovers, eating green apples off the tree until we were sick, Sneaking out of the house and never thinking we got caught!  Uncle Jess is such a great part of those memories.  All we had to do was bat our eyes and we usually got what we wanted!  Thank you for sharing your Dad with me:)  There is no doubt in my mind that he and Mom are up there stirring things up and having everyone in Laughter!  Love and Prayers to all of you!

Dear LaVon, Julie, Brett, Matt, Jessica and Danny,

I am so sorry for your terrible loss. I have lost my own Dad in February and I know what you feel and are going through right now. I have wonderful memories of your Dad. The first one being my first stay in Oakley in the summer of 1988 when Jess and I celebrated our joint Birthdays together: 53 and 21! Time flies...I still have pictures of that special day with you all except Jessica and Danny who were not born yet :-)! My stay was wonderful and our trip in Wyoming and Utah left me with plenty of joyous memories to cherish. The next visit in Oakley in March 1991 was also very special to me. Jess and I wrote to each other right after your dearest Clay passed away and it was nice to catch up after many years without seeing each other. The distance unfortunately doesn't help but souls can connect whenever they wish to and wherever they might be.
I will never forget Jess and will keep on having a very special thought for him and honoring his memory most especially on every July 28. May you find comfort and peace among each other. Much love, hugs and kisses.

I loved Jess's spontaneity, his ability to engage others in conversation, and of course his humor and intelligence. I loved that he demonstrated his concerns and happiness for all you children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and I was impressed that he touched base with each of you so often. You were his mortal strength and pride and are the same in the light. May his comforting love continue to surround you. Jess was a childhood friend of my late husband, Ed Lamborn. They hunted a lot together,& were in scouting together. Ed built him many a guns. Then when Ed died 7 yrs ago, Jess always checked on me, took me to dinner, cooked for me, and called. We enjoyed watching movies together and snuggling. He was a very dear and much loved friend. He will be sadly missed. I'm sure he and Ed are having a good time together. RIP love.

I have lost one of my greatest life-long friends that I will ever have. I literally grew up with him rolling around the floor in our diapers with him. As our parents were best friends. In fact, if it hadn't been for Jess (Father of Jesse George) being in the hospital and my mom going to the hospital with Florence (his future wife at the time) may parents would not have met, as Les, my father was there visiting his friend Jess. The rest is history.The two couples remained strong friends through out their deaths. For many reasons and timing we never married, but we did love each other.I will truly miss his fun & friendship.I so admired his drive, wisdom and strength.Keep Going Strong "Jesse George" love xo

Jess was a great grandfather. Whenever my kids were with him I knew three things: they were safe; they were loved; and they were going to have a great time. Thanks Jess.

We are so sorry for your family's loss of such a good  man. We knew Jess from his time in Oakley and  felt he considered us a friend   I have ran into Jess several times after he left and really enjoyed the visits. He was a very generous man. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family .

Jesse was a friend and mentor for over 40 years.  Happy Trails Elder...until we meet again.  Clark Alvey

I met Jesse when I was 14. I decided to attend mutual night for the first time. It was 1971 and Jesse's first night as the varsity scout coach. He asked us if we wanted to wear scout uniforms, we said "no" and he said "okay". I didn't know it at the time but my life was about to change for the better. We made a list that night of all the things we wanted to do and when I showed it to my folks they smiled and said "don't get your hopes up". What followed was a life changing experience for me. Jesse took us to Mexico, Nauvoo, and everyplace in between. Jesse bought an International Travelall and with the help of our other leaders we had the adventure of a life time. Jesse created some great traditions in our group of 15-17 boys to enforce the rules. If you swore you got a run through the "spanking machine". You had to hold your ankles and run through a gauntlet of you peers who enthusiastically administered as many spanks as they could while maintaining formation. When we lost a kid he would gather us together and enlist the aid of a greater power through prayer. It always worked. When we got restless on some of the longer trips he always seemed to know the location of a secluded swimming hole. Jesse has had such a profound impact on me that I have endeavored to pay it forward by mentoring and teaching young men whom I have served over the last 35 years. Jesse's adventurous spirit opened my eyes to a panorama of life's possibilities. I am a better man because I had a friend named Jesse Jackson.

I am grateful to have shared time with Jess  in "Flaming Gorge" country.  We had a lot of fun on the river and the lake.  He was at the top of the "outdoorsman" game.

His caring relationship with his sister Joan was special to her.  Thank you children for sharing some of your dad with our family.  We truly love you guys.

To many business adventures in the next life Jesse, we will see you again. RIP my dear friend.

Like many others, Jess had a huge impact on our life and the lives of my children.  I am grateful for the doors he opened for me. I hope all of you kids feel comfort knowing your dad had a great influence on many.

My family and I always looked forward to spending time in Oakley at Jesse's ranch.  He was the first one to introduce us to the Oakley rodeo, I don't think we have missed a year since.
