In Salt Lake, where the mountains kiss the sky, a beloved soul has taken flight. Jilleen, known to her loved ones as Grammie, Mom, and Jill, passed away on April 29, 2023, at the age of 87. Born on September 25, 1935, she graced this world with her presence, a gift to all who knew her.
A storyteller at heart, Jilleen's words flowed like poetry, painting vivid pictures of her life and times. Her love for bowling was akin to a symphony, the sound of pins crashing like music to her ears. And music, oh how she adored it, a siren's call that never ceased to inspire her. Her wit was sharp as a razor, her sayings a work of art. "Older than Methuselah," she'd say, a phrase that will forever echo in our hearts.
Jilleen's spirit lives on in her loved ones, her daughters Cherie Malor and Lori Gallagher, along with Lori's husband Chad, her son Kory Bennett, and her daughter Tracie West, along with Tracie's husband Barry. Her legacy continues through her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory with them always. Though she is now gone, she will never be forgotten.
A grave-side service will be held on Monday, May 8th, 2023, at 1 pm, at Wasatch Lawn, a final farewell to a woman who touched so many lives. In lieu of donations, her family asks that you honor her memory by living a life of kindness and compassion, just as Jilleen did. May her soul rest in peace, forever remembered as a work of art, a masterpiece of love and light.
