John Joseph Bocchicchio was born January 31, 1971 in Burbank, California. One of the most loving, kind, funny, warm, and compassionate men you could ever know, John suffered from congenital spinal stenosis, and a variety of other medical issues that rendered him disabled and put him in unrelenting chronic pain. After battling and suffering for many years, John took his own life on the evening of May 19, 2023 at his home in Millcreek, UT. He was 52 years old. To say he will be missed is a horrible understatement. John truly was love incarnate. He would have jumped in front of a freight train to protect the people he loved without a second thought. He was a passionate individual who found solace in nature. John was a spiritual man who truly valued and found great comfort in his personal relationship with God. By trade, he was a paramedic in the field until transitioning to working on film sets in Hollywood as a medic before retiring in 2014. John finally began pursuing his passion for acting and voice work which led him to an improv class at UCB where he met his soulmate and the love of his life, Charla. They moved to Utah together with his children and married on May 30, 2016 in Sonoma, CA.
John is survived by his wife, Charla (Hale-Cochran) Bocchicchio, his 4 children, Rachel, Jesse, Joshua and Jaren Bocchicchio, his son-in-law Maverick Bocchicchio, his brand new grandson Angelo Bocchicchio, his mother, Nancy Elliot, and his three brothers Mark, Michael and Christopher Bocchicchio. John was preceded in death by his father, Michael Joseph Bocchicchio, and his stepdaughter Cassidy Aspen Cochran.
No public service will be held. The family and close friends will gather for a celebration of life to laugh, cry and remember this truly magnificent man.
