It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce that our sweet Kai, our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and dear friend, passed away on Monday, November 8th, 2021, at the age of twenty-two years old. Kailua William Kinley Ossana was born at 11:52 pm on December 6th, 1998. Born a few moments later and his birthday would have been on the 7th, which he would have hated as he only cared for even numbers. Kai also enjoyed having a birthday all to himself...sorry Aunt Jenifer. Kai was the sweetest and calmest baby. He loved anyone he met. As a little kid, he was crazy and playful, often with mischief in his eyes. Kai grew to be a very sweet, calm, caring, and selfless young person.
Kailua is survived by his mother, Jennifer (Jebblifer), father, Miles, stepmother, Michelle, stepdad, Dennis, sisters, Aesher (Æsher) and Malia (buddette), brother, Kona (bud), sister in-law, Maddie, brother in-law, Stephen, grandparents, Gene and Valerie, uncles, Matthew, James, Brooks, Conley, Jeremy, and Adrian, aunts, Caprice, Blusette, Tomi, cousins, Bailey, Sally, Frejya, Xiamara, Savannah, and Sloan, his heart, Makendy (Budapest), and his furbaby, Korra. Kailua was preceded in death by his grandma, Joy, grandpa, Tom, cousin, Elise, uncle, Sloan, and Dylan.
Kai touched the hearts of everyone he met with his gentle and kind demeanor. Kai was a lover of all animals, especially dogs, and he cherished his "daughter" Korra. He even loved all cats, despite being allergic. More than anything, Kai loved spending time with his fur babies, his Budapest, Makendy, and his family. Kai was known for his affinity for pineapples. Kai had a passion for all things technological, especially his computer, virtual reality, and video games. He often spent nights gaming with his brother Kona and his friends Michael, Sam, and Emma. He also loved playing video games with his uncle, Matthew. Kai was always so full of curiosity and creativity. He loved taking things apart and rebuilding them. He built his own computer by hand and helped his brother, Kona, and friend, Emma to build their computers as well. Kai also loved playing a variety of tabletop, board, and card games. Kai was always gathering his family together for game nights and showing them his latest discoveries. Anyone who knew Kai would describe him as extremely selfless and giving. He was always thinking of others and how he could make their day better. He loved giving thoughtful gifts to his friends and family and always did so in very quirky and playful ways that put a smile on everyone's faces.
