Kaye Hurst

Kaye Hurst born on April 2, 1938 in Moroni, Utah the oldest of seven to George and Afton Anderson. She passed peacefully in her sleep on July 21, 2025. She enjoyed growing up in a small town attending Moroni High and Snow College. Furthering her education at Utah State University joined Kappa Delta and graduated in Elementary Education.

She began teaching first graders and enjoyed going to church at the Capitol Hill Ward where J Earl was her home teacher. They were married 6 months later in the Manti Temple on August 24,1962 and honeymooned in Yellowstone. Their journey continued to Chicago for 6 years of dental and orthodontic school.

Jay and Kaye welcomed four children and raised them lovingly in their round home. All looked forward to traveling in the motorhome to Yellowstone every summer and utilizing the Jackson Lake Lodge pool as a deluxe bathtub. She thoroughly enjoyed leading the singing in primary, gardening, reading and writing tons of sweet notes.

Kaye delighted in nourishing her long time relationships with her neighborhood friends and the loyal gang. They enjoyed over 50 years of marriage traveled the world and participated in three dental exchanges in Israel, Russia and China and served as a couple at the General Conference Center.

Preceded in death by J Earl Hurst. Survived by their four children Karlyn Smith (Rob) Brent Hurst (Shauna) Eric Hurst, Allison Dalton (Eric) and including eight grandchildren Max (Samantha), Tommy (Emily), Lucy (Kai), Ryan, Hailey, Hayden, Luc and Viv.

A special message of gratitude to Michael her beloved hair expert and dear friend, all the staff at KeyBank and the genuinely kind and tender staff from Inspiration. We will all miss Kaye and are honored to have had her in our lives but are thrilled she has been reunited with Jay.

A memorial service will be held on Friday August 1, 2025 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary located at 3401 Highland Drive. Visiting with family 10:30 service at 11:00 a.m.
