Dan was born to Stephen and Donna Sterger. He was named after their favorite Elton John song, Daniel.
Dan had a great love for the outdoors. He took his family camping any chance he had. The mountains were his place, the place to go have fun, relax or just drive through. He loved hiking, snowboarding, camping, shooting, anything to do with the mountains he was for. On September 18, 2014 he married Janice at the top of Snowbird. Dan loved dragons and enjoyed collecting sculptures of them. He was passionate about music and drove Janice crazy playing the drum set in the spare bedroom. Dan was always the first to give a helping hand. He will be remembered for his sense of humor. His family meant everything to him. He worked in several different fields; as one door closed he opened another to better himself and his family. He spent many years as a mechanic, carpenter, building houses, driving OTR for 4 years, and spent the last 2 going into the technical world. He always had to be doing something, and spent a great deal of time “puttering” in the garage and organizing it. Things had to be in their place. He was a great example to all around him and would share his knowledge to anyone he could.
Dan is preceded in death by his father Stephen Anthony Sterger and mother in law Kathleen Lamb; as well as all grandparents.
He is survived by his wife Janice, son Cameron, furbabies Skully and Lilly, mother Donna Anderson (Jeff), siblings Laura (Mike) Hadley, Lance Sterger, Leo (Whitney) Sterger, Luke (Danielle) Sterger, CJ Weiss and Christina Weiss, Steve and Kaylynn Lindholm, nieces and nephews, Casey, Kira, Camden, Kiersten, Elyse, Logan, Zoe, Brighton and Dallin, step parents, step siblings as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Janice and Cameron would like to thank everyone for all of their love and support during this time. A special thanks to Profire Energy and Wasatch Lawn for all they have done to help with the process of bringing him home from Canada.
A casual celebration of life where all are welcome to come celebrate will be held on Sunday December 9, 2018 from 4-7pm at the LDS Pebble Hills Chapel 8735 S Harvard Park Drive, Sandy UT 84094
