

Laraine Jordan Darby peacefully returned home to her Heavenly Father on November 1, 2024, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease and Dementia. She spent her final days at home in Draper, Utah, with her loving husband by her side. He gave her unconditional love and tenderness as he cared for her through all of her illness.
Raine was born to Alfred and Margaret Jordan on November 24, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married the love of her life, David Darby, on April 18, 1993. They were later sealed in the Draper Temple on April 18, 2009.
Raine was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she found joy as Primary President and Gospel Doctrine teacher. She attended the University of Utah and cherished her time with her Alpha Chi Omega sisters. Throughout her life, she had several careers, but her favorite was as a stewardess for United Airlines, where she earned the title of Airline Ms. Las Vegas. She later retired from a rewarding career in customer service at Smith's. Raine was loved by all and had a remarkable ability to connect with everyone she met, maintaining strong friendships with her fellow United Airlines colleagues long after her time there.
After retirement, Dave and Raine lived in Salt Lake City before moving to Mesquite, Nevada, where they enjoyed life on the golf course. She enjoyed golfing, tennis, and making new friends. They served a mission in Atlanta, Georgia, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her children: Dax (Lynn) Boyle, Tige Boyle, Josh Boyle, Beckie (Steve) Raemer, David Darby, Scott Darby, Jamison (Jamie) Darby, and Randall Darby. Her seven grandchildren: Andrew, Gage, Tanner, Jake, Chase, Cohen, and Brody.
Raine was one of ten siblings. She was preceded in death by William (Deana) Jordan, Barbara (Keith) Bennett, Janice (Ken) Hennefer. She is survived by her siblings Ted (Carol) Jordan, Faye (Bob, deceased) Wade, David (Nancy) Jordan, Kathy White, Susan Jordan, Chris (John) Sessions.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 7 from 12:00 to 1:00 with a viewing prior to services from 11:00 - 11:45 a.m. at the Mountain Point 8th Ward, 348 East, Manti Dr, Draper, Utah.
Raine's warmth and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dignity Hospice for the compassionate care they provided during her final days.
