LaVar Ray Neff (Tony) returned to his Heavenly Father October 30, 2013 after his tired heart just couldn't go any more. He was born February 3, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Marguerite Packer and Cyrus Lavar Neff. He graduated from South High School and was married in the Salt lake Temple to his eternal companion and sweetheart Yvonne Taylor on June 20, 1952. Together they raised three children, who gave them 16 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Tony was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and his favorite calling was teaching the little children in primary. His wife may have been the best cook ever, but he was the best eater. He definitely loved food, especially the meals that his sweetheart created. He had a great passion for cars. He loved buying, owning, and talking the ears off of anyone that would engage in conversation about them. Together he and his sweetheart entered and won several car shows. Survived by his wife Yvonne, of 61 years; children: Susan (Paul) Wagner, Gary (Cathy) Neff, Kathy (Paul) Jolley, 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters: Dean Lowe, Marlene Dazley, Donna Smith and Brent Miller. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Martel Lowe, and grandson Daniel Neff. A viewing will be held Monday November 4th, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary. 3401 South Highland Drive, SLC.
