On May 30, 2018, our mom, grandma and great-grandma (73), returned home to be with her husband (Kelly) and daughter (Angelique). Leah spent the past 4 months without her husband of 52 years and fought the loneliness every day.
Grandma Leah was born August 20, 1944, in Brigham City, Utah. She is survived by 2 children: Kelly (Melinda) and Patrick (Adriana); 2 stepchildren: Debbie (Jim) and Chris (Shellene); 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She leaves behind her parents, Violet & O’dell George; her sisters: Jenny (Greg), Cindy (Jack), and Charm (Roland); her brother, Geoff; her sister-in-law, Christine (Ron); and her dog, Shawnee, who gave her much comfort and love.
Leah spent her early life working at Safeway where she met her husband. She then worked as an Avon sales representative and video manager for Fred Meyer. Leah spent most of her life being a mom and grandma. She cooked for us all and made sure we knew we could come home any time we wanted. The light was always on and the stove was hot.
Thanks for taking care of us over the years mom. We will never forget you and your sacrifices. The dedication and support that you and dad showed us will never be forgotten. The holidays, and especially Christmas, will never be the same without you and dad. We miss and love you forever, Mom.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 4, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah.
